What I want to do after graduation

After completing my degree in graphic and web design, I found myself faced with an unexpected twist in my academic journey. Instead of donning a graduation cap and gown, I realized that I needed to stay an extra semester at John Abbott College to complete my remaining general courses. While this detour was a bit disheartening at first, I knew it was a necessary step to achieve my ultimate goal.

Upon obtaining my diploma from John Abbott, I am determined to make the most of my time and experience by working part-time during the winter months. This decision aligns with my ambition to enroll in Marie-Victorin, a renowned fashion school that has beckoned to me for some time now. My heart and passion lie in the world of fashion design, and Marie-Victorin presents the ideal platform for me to hone my skills and embark on a promising career in this dynamic industry.

My dream isn’t just to create beautiful clothing; it’s to establish a successful fashion brand that resonates with people worldwide. Marie-Victorin’s prestigious programs and expert faculty will provide me with the knowledge and insights necessary to turn this aspiration into a reality. Armed with the design expertise I acquire there, I will have the tools to build a brand that not only reflects my unique vision but also captures the essence of contemporary fashion trends.

In the not-so-distant future, I envision myself as a fashion entrepreneur, creating collections that inspire and empower individuals. This unexpected semester extension at John Abbott College may have delayed my graduation, but it has only fueled my determination to pursue my passion for fashion with even greater enthusiasm. I am confident that this journey will ultimately lead me to a fulfilling and successful career in the world of fashion design.

About my Career Plan

In the forthcoming 5-10 years, my aspirations revolve around a dual entrepreneurial endeavor that encompasses my passion for both the culinary and fashion realms. The dream I hold dear is to establish a thriving bakery shop and launch my own clothing brand, a venture that reflects my diverse creative interests.

Within the realm of graphic design, specialization is key, and I find myself particularly drawn to the fields of illustration, branding, and packaging design. These facets of the craft captivate my imagination, and I am eager to channel my creativity and expertise into these domains. Designing eye-catching packaging boxes is a source of genuine enjoyment for me, and I yearn to infuse my personal touch into this often-overlooked aspect of branding.

As a graphic designer, I am determined to craft a unique identity for my envisioned businesses. This includes fashioning my own distinctive logo and meticulously crafting a website that not only showcases my talents but also serves as a digital storefront for my bakery and clothing brand. With the ability to create and build everything from scratch using my creative skills, I aim to ensure that every visual aspect resonates with my personal vision.

In the realm of fashion, I plan to push the boundaries of creativity by designing clothes that incorporate graphic prints. My vision extends to experimenting with various types of fabrics to create diverse and innovative clothing pieces. Whether it’s custom t-shirts adorned with my signature prints or haute couture garments, I am excited about the prospect of bringing my unique design sensibilities to the world of fashion.
